Packaging reduction and efficiency for Scottish SMEs

Green Gain has been delivering a packaging reduction and efficiency programme to Scottish SMEs across packaging supply chains, from convertor, to manufacturer, pack/filler and retailer. Funded by ZWS, this included research to map packaging arisings across Scottish SMEs and develop good practice guidance around packaging. Further work was undertaken with 11 SMEs on a one to one basis to identify packaging efficiency opportunities. A second phase of work is now being undertaken to work intensively with 6 of these SMEs to help them implement efficiency measures over a series of months and to develop case studies of innovation and good practice.
