TIM SUTHERLAND

Tim is a development professional, his expertise is founded upon his industrial engineering and commercial background for both private and public sector. His 16 years of industry experience covers topics such as technology and market due diligence, renewable project development, conventional and low carbon power and supply chains, project finance, six sigma process improvement, energy management and international trade and development. Tim looks to enhance investments and business cases through provision of industry based due diligence, risk hedging, and establishing routes for commercialisation.

Tim has established an operational framework for local authorities to develop and deploy their own low carbon solutions, resulting in Leeds City Council’s adoption and national advocacy. He led a study to define both market demand and strike prices for municipal residual waste, appraising both conventional markets as well as renewable technology. The study received high praise from DEFRA and strong interest from the Secretary of State.
